Something Wicked This Way Comes: The Apocalypse

The phrase, “something wicked this way comes,” is from Shakespeare’s play Macbeth.1 It is spoken by one of the three witches in Act 4, Scene 1, when she speaks of the war hero, Macbeth. By enticement and his own doing, he has become a monster of a man, because of his political ambition. These witches told Macbeth about his future, adding that he will become king, and he just can’t get that regal idea out of his mind.

Evil people do evil things to bring about the desires and power they want, and Macbeth was no exception. By making plans, he envisioned the things that must be done to manipulate events in his favor, including murder. But this article is about neither Shakespeare, nor Macbeth — it is about the devil and the end of this age. I used that line from the play, only because that is descriptive of our world today. There is something dreadful coming our way.

The global leaders in control of this planet have long been planning for a world as they wish it to be, one that serves only them. These elite people are selfish and greedy and care not about what is right or wrong. They don’t care about you or me, and they have no concern about how many people will suffer the consequences of their actions in achieving their evil goals.

During the prophet Isaiah’s time, the world was tense, much as it is today, and God chose him to deliver a message of judgment to sinful people, because he knew the people could only be healed through punishment. The people listened to Isaiah, but most did not understand; they saw but did not comprehend. Isaiah asked God how long would he have to present his message and God replied, “Until the cities lie waste,” (Isaiah 6:11b, NRSV).2 But God also said a tree stump would remain standing, implying a remnant of those who listened would survive (Isaiah 6:13).

Likewise, when Jesus was on earth, he said hearts were dull and cold, for they will listen but never understand, and they will look but never perceive (see Matthew 13:15). And now here we are, two thousand years later, and still most people of the world hear but don’t understand, and see but don’t comprehend. Except, of course, a small group that understands God’s plan. This small portion of believers — this remnant — are the ones who will make it through the troubling last days now upon us. They are the ones who will help rebuild this world during a new age without the presence of Satan and his evil followers. They will gain eternal life, as it was intended for humankind before the fall from grace in the Garden of Eden.

What is it that most people don’t see?

Evil is so prevalent in the world that many have taken it for granted. Their hearts have been dulled and they have become spiritless. This is all the devils’ work and not many realize that it is now taking place right under their noses. Our Lord spoke about how this present age would end and the things that would take place before he rescues the remnant of faithful followers. We have a last chance to perceive and comprehend what is going on in this evil age and change our ways, before it is destroyed. He warned us that humankind needs to shape-up or they will lose-out and now is the time to wake up and realize that the end days are now upon us.

When Jesus was on earth and told his disciples he would one day return, they asked him, “Tell us, when will this be, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?” (Matthew 24:3). And Jesus, sitting on the Mount of Olives, answers them, pointing out it is important no one leads them astray, for false teachers will come along and succeed in deceiving the multitudes. This is the situation we have today in the church, as well as in politics. Some church leaders with personal agendas deceive us with twisted scripture, and the government does the same by twisting the law. Not many want to be righteous and live by the accurate word of God.3

Then Jesus continued, “And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars; see that you are not alarmed; for this must take place, but the end is not yet. For nation will rise against nation [race against race], and kingdom against kingdom [country against country], and there will be famines and earthquakes [from earth changes] in various places: all this is but the beginning of the birth pangs [of the new age to come],” (Matthew 24:6-8).

“And you will be hated by all nations because of my name. Then many will fall away, and they will betray one another and hate one another. And many false prophets will arise and lead many astray. And because of the increase of lawlessness, the love of many will grow cold,” (Matthew 24:9b-12). The Gospel of Luke gives a more detailed explanation of betrayal in these end days: “You will be betrayed even by parents and brothers, by relatives and friends,” (Luke 21:16a).

These signs may have been far into the future when Jesus preached to his disciples two thousand years ago, but now they are the current signs of his imminent return. We are seeing all these things today, on a scale much larger than in the past. But that is not all!

Jesus pointed out he did not know the exact time these things would happen, because only his father, God, had that information (Matthew 24:36). However, he did say, “For as the days of Noah were, so will be the coming of the Son of Man. For as in those days before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day Noah entered the ark, and they knew nothing until the flood came and swept them all away, so too will be the coming of the Son of Man. . . . Therefore you also must be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an unexpected hour,” (Matthew 24:37-39; 44).

Matthew, chapter 24, teaches us much more about this chaotic time of trouble and deceptions. And if you want a deeper study on the turmoil and deceit headed our way, see the article titled “The Coming Great Deception — Matthew 24:24″ listed in References & Notes at the end of this discourse.4

The Book of Revelation

The last book of the Bible, The Revelation from Jesus Christ, adds detailed information about the time approaching the return of our Lord. A cosmic cataclysm is coming. This predicted Apocalypse is a series of earth-wide events, preceding God’s destruction of the evil ruling powers impacting humanity. This holy book may seem like a science fiction novel, but it is not some fanciful story, but truth about the power of God.

There is coming an Antichrist who will fraudulently act as a savior. Then there will be a war with Satan, but by the end of the book, it shows that Jesus will be triumphant in defeating evil and usher in a new age where there will be a restoration of all things lost, because of that first human sin in the Garden of Eden. This has always been a promise from God and, as all other promises of God have been kept, this one will be kept, too.

There will be political and military conquests that dominate humanity. Also coming will be famine and disease. This will be worldwide and affect the entire global population. For a deeper study, see “When the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse Ride — Revelation 6″ listed in References & Notes.5

Some people believe these words of God and that this will all come to pass. Some think it will be soon, others still think it is far into the future. Of course, there are also those that don’t believe it at all. I’m trying to lay out the information needed for making two decisions: (1) whether to believe it, and (2) whether to act upon it now. I pray you will choose wisely, but it has to be your decision, and from your heart. But let me put a little pressure upon those yet to make a decision. Remember, once the doors of the ark were closed, it was too late to swap sides and survive.

How does this apply to today?

For those hemming and hawing over which way to go, I believe your time is running out. Everyone needs to wake up to the current world situation and realize the end days are here. Not many are able to connect the dots, because of wide-spread deception. Humanity is currently being inventoried, tracked, profiled, categorized, and inoculated (with something)6— many times even against our will. The United Nations and other powerful factions have determined the population has exceeded the capacity of the planet and needs reduction by any means necessary. We are all under a death sentence because of sin, but some groups seem to want to hurry the dying process.

We have travel restrictions, shopping restrictions, disease lock-downs, inventory shortages, inflated prices, loss of freedoms, racial division, and restrictions on speech. There are increased earth changes occurring, but most can’t see these problems right in front of their noses. Maybe they just don’t want to admit it, or just can’t face the truth. Or maybe they only believe what they watch on their television news programs and their social media.

In Revelation, it tells us about the ‘mark of the beast’. Without this mark no one, rich or poor, free or slave, will be able to buy or sell anything (Revelation 14:16-17). I don’t know if this has anything to do with the current vaccinations, or a ‘passport’ document to prove such vaccinations, but it sure would fit the concept of a mark of the beast. What the world governments have in mind will certainly create economic discrimination and, apparently, death. Some countries are already planning ‘social scores’ (like credit scores) that will allow, or disallow, citizens a bank account, financial transactions, travel privileges, entrance to stores, or access to medical and government services.

If you get your news from controlled mainstream media networks, you are not getting the truth you need to make a proper decision. They are advocating fake news — a false reality. The depth of this deception is mind-boggling. They control the news and if we publically disagree with policy or post something of truth against their agenda on social media, it is censored or removed to keep that truth from spreading.

The truth is out there, but to obtain it one must go outside all controlled news sources; we must find alternative ways. There are many sources of alternative media (both social and news worthy) that are still uncontrolled by governments, but you must search for them.

Even many churches are onboard with this evil agenda of deception. Why? Well, it all has to do with money. Concerning the tax laws relating to religious organizations, once a church accepts the Internal Revenue Service organization requirements (in the USA) for tax exemption, they then have a new “higher authority” to obey — the government.7 Surely these religious leaders know, “the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil,” (1 Timothy 6:10), but they desire money over truth.

Church leaders know that speaking out against anything that the government rules necessary, or which is established as public policy, can put their tax exempt status in jeopardy. A case in point is being afraid to buck the government concerning policies on abortion, homosexuality, same sex marriage, gun control, and even vaccination issues. So, many pastors tend to tow the government line in any way necessary, to keep the flow of their income steady, regardless of what the Holy Bible says.8

Use the Bible as a Guide

Of course when we see blatant acts of evil, we understand that it is wrong, but what about those that practice slight-of-hand activities to do their evil? Anyone who is confused about how to identify if someone is evil can check out the list God has provided for us in the Bible. The Apostle Paul points out the obvious in his Letter to the Galatians in chapter five.

“Let the Holy Spirit guide your lives. Then you won’t be doing what your sinful nature craves. The sinful nature wants to do evil, which is just the opposite of what the Spirit wants. And the Spirit gives us desires that are the opposite of what the sinful nature desires. These two forces are constantly fighting each other, so you are not free to carry out your good intentions,” (Galatians 5:16-17, NLT).9

Paul went on to write, “When you follow the desires of your sinful nature, the results are very clear: sexual immorality, impurity, lustful pleasures, idolatry, sorcery, hostility, quarreling, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish ambition, dissension, division, envy, drunkenness, wild parties, and other sins like these. Let me tell you again, as I have before, that anyone living that sort of life will not inherit the Kingdom of God,” (Galatians 5:19-21, NLT).

Any person or organization taking part in, or accepting, such behaviors are not following the teachings of Jesus, but are doing the devil’s work. It is Satan’s lies and guidance that are responsible for the darkness that is covering this world. Satan is the power behind all the chaos; humans are his tools.

Compare those attributes with the following, which are produced by way of the Holy Spirit of God. “But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things!” (Galatians 5:22-23, NLT).

Paul then explains: “Those who belong to Christ Jesus have nailed the passions and desires of their sinful nature to his cross and crucified them there. Since we are living by the Spirit, let us follow the Spirit’s leading in every part of our lives,” (Galatians 5:24-25, NLT). This website has several articles concerning these principles, see the list in References & Notes.10

Time to Decide

We have covered what is soon coming and presented the information we need to pick sides at the end of this age of good verses evil. We have also examined what reward or punishment awaits either choice.

Humankind may have been created lower than the angels (Hebrews 2:7), but we are higher than the other animals on this world (Genesis 1:25-26). Therefore, we have the ability to tune-in to God’s Holy Spirit, as we are made in his image (Genesis 1:27). God has given us the ability to direct our own path, so we can change if we want to do so. The problem is that we must make that decision and act upon it now. Waiting much longer may cost us our eternal lives. The end will come, just as the flood came in Noah’s time. Living by the spirit is our ticket out of this evil mess.

It’s almost as if we are now living within an apocalyptic movie. There is a heavenly chess game being played-out between good and evil — between Jesus and Satan — and the game is nearly over. Jesus is winning and Satan is running scared and is trying everything he can to turn this game around. That is what we see happening as evil is increasing and the world is going crazy.

Speaking about apocalyptic movies and such, our current situation was surprisingly predicted in an old ‘X-Files’ television episode from the 1990s. So, instead of a music video, we have a one and a half minute snippet from that program — take a look.11
