What is time? I like one author’s description who said the word “time” itself is so versatile that “we can kill time, do time, save it and spend it. Time even takes on a medicinal role when it comes to healing both physical and emotional wounds. Most of us wish we had more of it, and yet time persists both as an object of value and an enemy of every person on Earth. It is, eventually, the thing which kills all of us. And yet for all its pervasiveness in our everyday conversations, describing what time is doesn’t come easily.”1
While time is familiar to everyone, it is somewhat hard to understand, and even more so to explain, because art, science, religion, and common usage all have different definitions.2 For our study, we will examine time as used by everyday civilization, and how it is sometimes explained by science, as well as how it may be thought of by God.

Time is said to be the continuous progression of existence, which occurs in succession from the past, through the present, and into the future.3 While it is not a physical thing that we can put our finger on, its passage can be measured by various units of observable intervals such as years, months, days, hours, minutes, and seconds, all consulted and recorded using physical items such as calendars and clocks.
Most people in the past thought we resided in a three-dimensional universe, but we know now that we inhabit four dimensions. Besides the three measurements of height, depth, and width, — all measurable using some type of ruler — there is also the dimension of time, measured by its flow. All four measurements are fundamental dimensions of the universe that we can comprehend.
The Biblical View
The Bible speaks about time from the first book of the Old Testament through the last book of the New Testament. In the book of Genesis, God speaks about creating our world in just days: the plants, the animals, even humans (Genesis 1 and 2). That can’t be correct, can it? And God told Adam and Eve that if they eat from the tree of knowledge of good and evil, then in that day they would die, (Genesis 2:17). But people during that period lived nearly a thousand years; Adam lived 930 years and one of his relatives, Methuselah, lived 969 years. How do we explain this?
American pastor and writer, Jonathan Cahn, said that God is not bound by time, but is the creator of it. Before time began, he existed and long after the last tick-of-a-clock fades into eternity, he will still reign.4 So God cannot be wrong about time, he authored it, and therefore can manipulate, interpret and translate it, as he wishes.

When God — speaking of that tree in Eden — said, “in the day that you eat of it you shall die,” he didn’t mean within the next twenty-four hours. He spoke of a ‘day’ as a period of time, just as we may occasionally refer to something as “back in our grandparents day.” And indeed, Adam and Eve and their descendants, all died within a divine day of one thousand years.5 It was not until after the flood of Noah’s day, that the human life-span was shortened.
Later on, in Psalms, we find a prayer by Moses, in which he states, “For a thousand years in your sight are like yesterday when it is past, or like a watch in the night,” (Psalm 90:4).6 The prophet was indicating that God is never subject to time. He regards a thousand years the way a human would think of a single day; it is a contrast between the briefness of human life after the flood and the eternity of God’s view.
In New Testament times, there were scoffers who mocked the idea of God’s promise to set up a new kingdom and have a final judgement, thus eliminating evil. Such people thought that if it were true, there wouldn’t be such a long delay. So, the apostle Peter borrows Moses’ idea and says to them, “Do not ignore this one fact, beloved, that with the Lord one day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like one day,” (2 Peter 3:8).7
He reminded them, just as Moses had mentioned, that God is not subject to time. God can expand a day into a millennium, or compress a millennium into a day, basically either spreading or concentrating his activities.8 What seems like a delay makes the Lord’s return no less certain, for God views time differently than humans. Christ will return in accordance with the divine timetable, not ours.9
Besides — as mentioned in 2 Peter 3:9 — if we complain about God’s supposed delay, we should view it as an illustration of patience. God takes no pleasure in the death of the wicked; his pleasure is in mercy and giving all of us enough time to repent of our sins. In context, God provides sufficient time for those chosen for salvation to come to faith before they die, or before Jesus arrives again.10
The Modern Science View

Space-time is an early 20th century theory, which presented a mathematical model that fused space and time into a single four-dimensional continuum. Space-time diagrams help in visualizing and understanding how different observers perceive ‘where’ and ‘when’ events occur.11 Of course today, we know this is fact, not just theory.
Scientific research has learned much about time and some of those working on solving the math think they can play God with their newly found knowledge and high-tech tools. So, when Einstein threw gravity into the mix, it was learned that gravity warped the space-time system.12 It could slow it down, or speed it up, and the elite began plotting evil ways to harness that supernatural knowledge.
Add what is called ‘quantum entanglement’13 to all this and it gets quite unbelievable and spooky. No wonder some scientists believe they are solving God’s creative powers, because they are learning how to use them. Using supernatural knowledge in the ancient past was considered magic, and likely something the fallen angels knew, and they used it to accomplish much of their wickedness.
The fallen angels’ knowledge and skills really worked, but it was not yet the age for human minds to understand how to use that esoteric know-how. That is why God told his ancient people not to practice the magic arts; the sorcery really works, but humans were not yet ready for it.

So, what do modern scientists believe about time? Some believe that the concept of time is not real but simply an illusion, and that everything that is, or has ever been, or will ever be, is happening right now.14 We live, they say, in a four dimensional universe of the space-time, encompassing everything that ever happens. There is no ‘now’ or ‘presence’. Your perception of the present simply reflects your position in the universe at that specific moment. The ‘past’ and ‘future’ are just located in another part of the universe.
Instantly moving between times and locations light years away, is not only possible, but easily done with newly learned or discovered knowledge. I will go even further and suggest that this is like the spiritual realm in which God lives — a heavenly place outside of time and distance constraints. If you believe I’m crazy, hang-on a few more minutes.
You may be thinking that if science has discovered the knowledge to manipulate time, were is the proof? Well, it is out there. You may have to dig to find it, but it is documented and patented technology. Exposing high tech is just a part of the great revealing that we are now beginning to see. (See the article “Imminent: Secrets to be Revealed – What Should a Christian Believe?” listed in References & Notes.)15
Here are a few examples. Thirty years ago, shortly before his death in 1995, Ben Rich, former engineer and director of America’s Lockheed Skunk Works,16 publicly stated the following. “We now have the technology to take ET home . . . We now have the capability to travel to the stars.”17
And just this year Michael Kratsios, Director of the White House Office of Science and Technology, announced we now have the technologies that permit us to manipulate time and space which cancel out distance.18
While the U.S. government recently released knowledge of such futuristic technical knowledge, it was not the first time a similar creditable acknowledgment made the news in the recent past. Former Fox News anchor, Clayton Morris, interviewed a popular technology consultant, Ashton Forbes, about the U. S. government making a Malaysia Airlines plane instantly teleport to a new location using anti-gravitational orbs back in 2014. This event was captured on satellite feed, as well as drone footage; the streaming video was leaked from government sources. The video of the event is well-worth viewing; it is featured in the podcast interview listed in References & Notes.19
More recently, Boeing, the aerospace company, has hardware currently undergoing tests for practical use of quantum entanglement. They want to demonstrate how communications can take place instantaneously between a ground station and a space-based satellite, without sending any kind of signal or energy across the distance. This type of communication could be used to communicate instantly with space ships that are many light years away.20

America’s newest military branch, the United States Space Force (USSF), recently published plans for space warfare operations. They listed an outline for space superiority in places beyond earth.21
Instantly performing manipulation of matter, communicating between distances light-years apart, making items completely disappear, and even transporting large objects from one space-time location to another is all true. Please don’t hesitate to follow the links in Reference & Notes for more information and entrance down the rabbit hole of exotic, unsettling, and supernatural subject matter.
Having this knowledge exposed now, while humankind is still operating under evil influence, is one indication that this Age of Grace is nearly finished. These technologies will be perfected and completely available for us after Jesus’ return, and after he imprisons Satan. The new Millennium Age will allow us to progress to the next level without outside evil influences. I pray that many more people will repent of their sins, accept righteousness in their hearts, believe that Jesus died for their sins, and accept his free gift of everlasting life. If so, they will take a part in planning Earth’s new beginning.
Fun with God’s Arithmetic
When the apostle said in Second Peter, “with the Lord one day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like one day,” could that be taken literally? I would say quite possibly, yes! And just for amusement I did a little arithmetic and came up with these approximate equivalents.
If a thousand years for us equals only one day for God, then 100 years for us would only be 2 hours and 20 minutes for God. That would mean that our current average individual life span would, most likely, last only approximately two hours and 10 minutes in our Lord’s view. Another way to look at it is that in God’s view, Jesus was born, lived, and died on earth only about two days ago.
One year for us humans, would be 1/1000 of a day for God and that works out to be less than one and a half minutes on the heavenly scale. Therefore, in God’s timetable, a month or a week would have to be measured in mere blinks of an eye. Amazing, isn’t it!
Not being able to locate an acceptable music video concerning this study, I chose an uplifting selection by gospel singer and harmonica artist, Terry Lee McMillan (1953—2007). He performs the song ‘This Train is Bound for Glory’. Music video information and a YouTube link is listed in References & Notes.22
This train has left the station, you know, this train.
This train has left the station, I said, this train.
This train is a clean train, you know, this train.
This train is a clean train, everybody riding in Jesus’ name.
This train is a clean train, I said, this train,
Because this train is a clean train, oh, this train.
Don’t carry nothing, but the righteous and the holy.
This train bound for glory, this train.

- Quantum Entanglement: This is when entangled matter can perceive the action of another particle — and instantly repeat that action — even if separated by great distance. For such particles of matter, it makes no difference how far away they are from each other; they are not limited by distance or by the speed of light. This has been proven by the scientific community. For a better understanding of this phenomenon, see the following article.

- Skunk Works: The Lockheed Martin Skunk Works® has a 75-year track record developing aircraft systems and technology that push the boundaries of what’s possible. The name derives from Al Capp’s newspaper comic strip, Li’l Abner (1934–1977). In the comic strip, there was a running joke about a mysterious and unpleasant-smelling place deep in the forest called the ‘Skonk Works’, where a strong beverage was brewed from skunks, old shoes and other strange ingredients. Fellow employees quickly adopted the name for their mysterious division of Lockheed.

Absolutely fascinating, Dr. Ray. I watched the interview on the missing flight 370. Seems very weird but as you say, you are and I do like to ponder on things supernatural. One thing that intrigues me is the enormous size of the new Jerusalem and the fact that it is a cube. I think this means we will be able to defy gravity, to put it succinctly.
On a sideline, I have the original Battlestar Galactica series. This was devised by Glen Larson, who was a Mormon and included a strong Christian feel to his space travel stories.
Two episodes include abductions from beings that use fast flying “orbs”. The abductors are dressed in white and one has the name John. This as opposed to the cast who have names like Starbuck, Apollo and Adama. When someone asks one of these “spirits” if he is an angel, he replies that there is a element of truth in what he is saying. The reason for the abductions is always for the good of some peoples who are about to cause major wars.
Another thing that fascinates me is: – what is the smallest particle known to man. it used to be the cell, then the atom, then the protons and neutron and now we have discovered quarks and leptons. Personally I think everything is made up of some smaller things. Same as the edge of the universe. Not for our brain abilities?
Thank you for reading this article and for taking the time to share your thoughts. Battlestar Galactica was, in my opinion, the best science fiction television series ever developed.
